hdmi, usb adapters
Our friends from thehandheldblog.com got the chance to unbox a Nokia n8 right from its retail packaging. According to them, the contents of the retail box may vary from region to region and there's a high possibility that the asian (we), will also get a stylus (that must be a special stylus to be able to work with capacitive touchscreen of n8). The package will also contain and HDMI converter Micro USB to USB adapter for the USB-on-the-go functionality, of course the charger and headset won't be missing as well as the quick start cd and some user manual.

Samsung Wave few minutes hands on

samsung wave and the app/task manager

I had a chance to play with a samsung wave an officemate of mine bought recently (that was last week but I only manage to upload the pics now because unluckily, my mobile phone broke down - which i have been using to capture the images and video).  My office scores P 21,000.00 for an installment, 19k for cash payment.

update: I checked samsung yesterday at trinoma and cyberzone and the price go down to 18k for cash.

Anyway, this samsung wave is a touchscreen phone from ~of course~ samsung sporting a 3.3 inches super amoled screen (similar to galaxy S' but with 4'  and runs on bada OS.

Nokia N8 launching on August. To arrive on philippines when?

We still dont have any idea when N8 will officially ship to philippines but pricing has already been set at $465 - around Php 25,000.00. But based from the two previous products from Nokia (5800 and n97) that i have been keeping an eye from the date of announcement to its shipment to philippines -  taking 3-6 months to reach our shores. I'm looking at December 2010 or January 2011 (same month the 5800 came into ph).

Amazon.de is already taking pre-orders for $590 dollars.

Nokia N8 - Flagship phone of nokia for 2010

N8 is an upcoming Symbian^3 phone from nokia.

Here are the specs:

Dimensions

Thinner and lighter than n97 without sacrificing screen estate, this will be easy to put and pull on our pockets. Beware of the "ipit modus operandi" on our city buses, it will be a lot easier for them to get this phone out of your pockets because of its curved shape.

    Keys and input methods

Lesser number of physical keys, the call and cancel button are removed. Nokia might thought about the call and cancel button not really being used all the time so they place this functionality instead on the screen when a call is place or accepted. Slide up QWERTY keys is not to be found, instead user can use the onscreen qwerty keyboard. I'm not sure if it will be easy to type long paragraphs but let's see (with the aid of the capacitive touchscreen).
