Nokia respond a clarification regarding the delay of n8 shipments

I've read a post about the delay, again apparently, of Nokia N8's release. According to Engadget and other blogs as well
The amount of preorders has exceeded our expectations and we are working hard to deliver the Nokia N8 to the market. In some markets, we had planned to start delivering the Nokia N8s to our pre-order customers by the end of September. To ensure a great user experience, we have decided to hold the shipments for a few weeks to do some final amends. We're thrilled with the response that we've had to the Nokia N8 and assure everyone who've pre-ordered it already that it'll be worth the wait! We expect consumers to get their Nokia N8s during October
I don't know if they got this reply from a credible source but if you head over to Nokia Conversation, you would notice that they wanted to provide some clarifications regarding the issue.

As we have previously said, we still expect to start the shipments by the end of the third quarter. As with every global launch, when the device reaches the hand of the customer will vary by market and operator.
We have received a record number of online pre-orders for the Nokia N8. We had targeted our online pre-order customers to receive their N8s by the end of September. As it can take time from the beginning of shipment to arriving at their doorstep, in full transparency, we have advised our pre-order customers that they should expect their new Nokia N8 in October.

So based, on the post made by nokia, they're really into releasing the handset by the end of september (which could be Sept 30)  , and they want the clients to expect to get their phones by October since shipment and delivery could take time from a day to week, depending of the different condition such as weather, traffic, availability of transport vehicles, accidents etc.

I wouldn't mind waiting a few more weeks, if this would help delivering a more stable N8 on the market.
I don't have yet all the money for it anyway :D

I have a different point of view, for me if its only software related problem, they could send it to me now and id be happy to wait for the firmware update.

Well its just me, not all people , like us knows how things go on when it comes to software updates and stuff. hardware problems are more difficult to fix to begin with.

Yeah, even if its just a (relatively) simple thing to do a firmware update to phone, not everybody knows how to do it, or even want to do it. In fairness, they are correct in expecting that a product to work without problems right from the box and not having to update its software for that.
